Fendt 8.3.11 – Rear EPC (Electronic Power Control) module / E-box / ECU OBE: Rear EPC (Electronic Power Control), "Raise" function — Fault in signal line to valve

The system has detected an electrical fault in the circuit controlling the rear power lift's "Raise" solenoid valve (Component Y021). This is typically caused by a short circuit to earth (ground), a short circuit to battery voltage (UB), or a break in the wiring. As a safety consequence, the electrohydraulic power lift control is immediately terminated and locked to prevent unintended movement of the rear linkage.

   Perform a mechanical override test on the Y021 valve to ensure the rear linkage raises, confirming the issue is strictly electrical.

   Inspect separation point X332 (the Y021 electrical connector) for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or moisture ingress.

   Test the signal line between the E-box (A005/A014) and the X332 connector for continuity, shorts to ground, and shorts to power.

   Measure the resistance of the Y021 solenoid coil to check for an open circuit or internal short.

   Verify the E-box (A005/A014 ECU) functionality if the wiring harness and solenoid valve both test perfectly.

   Secure the Machine

   Park the tractor on a flat surface. Ensure the rear power lift is fully lowered to the ground or mechanically supported so there is no trapped hydraulic pressure. Turn off the engine and disconnect the battery.

   Access the Valve Block

   Locate the rear EPC hydraulic control block (typically located at the rear of the tractor, accessible by removing the right rear wheel or rear metal guards depending on the specific Vario model).

   Disconnect Electrics

   Unplug the X332 electrical connector from the Y021 "Raise" solenoid valve.

   Remove the Valve

   Clean the area around the valve to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system. Unbolt and carefully extract the Y021 solenoid valve from the block.

   Install the New Valve

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean hydraulic oil. Insert it into the block and torque the mounting bolts to the OEM specification for your specific tractor model.

   Reconnect and Reassemble

   Plug the X332 connector back in. Reinstall any guards or wheels removed during access.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and use the Varioterminal (or FENDIAS diagnostic tool) to clear the stored 8.3.11 fault code. Test the rear power lift using the cab controls and external pushbuttons to confirm the "Raise" function is restored.
