Fendt 8.3.15 – Rear EPC (Electrohydraulic Power Control) control module: Signal line fault with the "Lower" rear power lift external pushbutton

The system detects an electrical plausibility error, a broken wire, or a failed switch contact with the "Lower" rear power lift external pushbutton. As a safety consequence, the electrohydraulic power lift control is immediately terminated and locked to prevent uncommanded movement of the rear hitch.

   Inspect the left rear "Lower" pushbutton (S030) for physical damage, sticking, or heavy dirt/mud ingress that might be jamming the contacts.

   Trace the signal line from the switch back to the Rear EPC control module. Look for chafed wires, breaks, or pinch points along the fender harness.

   Disconnect the switch and inspect the electrical plug. Look for moisture, corrosion, or loose pins, which are common on external fender switches exposed to the elements.

   Use a multimeter to test the switch itself. Verify if the internal contacts open and close properly when the button is pressed. If the switch is open-circuit or shorted internally, it has failed.

   Perform a cold start reset by cycling the tractor's power to see if the code clears after cleaning the connections.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to protect the EPC control module from voltage spikes.

   Access the Switch

   Locate the faulty "Lower" switch on the left rear fender. Remove the protective housing or access panel behind the fender to reach the switch body.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the wiring harness connector from the back of the switch.

   Remove the Switch

   Depress the retaining tabs or remove the locking nut holding the switch in the fender bezel, and push the switch out.

   Clean and Prep

   Thoroughly clean the wiring harness connector. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the connector pins to prevent future moisture corrosion.

   Install New Part

   Snap the new switch into the fender housing and plug in the electrical connector.

7. 7

   Test

   Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition on. Clear the stored fault codes from the terminal. Test the external rear power lift buttons to ensure the hitch lowers correctly and the code does not return.
