Fendt 8.3.26 – Rear EPC (Electronic Power Control) module / EPC OBE (On-Board Electronics) ECU: External position sensor for rear power lift — Signal line fault.
Issue description
The sensor is out of position or there is an electrical fault (such as a short circuit or broken wire) on the sensor's signal line. As a safety consequence, the electrohydraulic power lift control is immediately terminated and locked.

Check the cause
Check Pin 9 on the EPC OBE ECU (A014), which corresponds to the external sensor
Test the wiring harness for a short-circuit in the positive supply voltage
Check for a cable break in the earth (ground) connection or the signal line
Verify if the sensor was connected or disconnected while powered, which can trigger this code and lock the system
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor ignition to prevent accidental voltage spikes to the EPC module.
Locate the Sensor
Locate the external position sensor on the rear power lift assembly (EHR lift arms).
Inspect the Harness
Disconnect the sensor and visually inspect the connector pins for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out pins.
Test the Wiring
Using a multimeter, trace the wiring from the sensor connector back to Pin 9 on the A014 ECU. Verify continuity on the signal line, ensure the ground wire has a solid connection to the chassis/ECU ground, and ensure the signal line is not shorted to the power supply wire.
Replace the Sensor
If the wiring harness passes all tests, the sensor itself has failed internally or is physically broken/out of position. Remove the mounting hardware, extract the old sensor, and install the new replacement sensor.
Clear and Test
Reconnect the harness, turn on the ignition, and clear the stored fault codes. Test the rear power lift using the external pushbuttons to verify the control lock has been lifted and full functionality is restored.
