Fendt 8.3.38 – Rear EPC (Electronic Power Control): Rear power lift pressure sensor — Signal fault, pressure sensor fault

The control unit is receiving an out-of-range, missing, or erratic signal from the pressure sensor responsible for monitoring the rear electrohydraulic power lift (EHR).

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the rear power lift pressure sensor for chafed wires, broken connections, or corrosion inside the connector plug.

   Consult the 'Electrohydraulic power lift control' circuit diagram to verify the pinouts for the sensor's signal, ground, and reference voltage.

   Inspect the EHR valve block (plaster or slice valve block) for physical damage or leaks.

   Clear the fault code using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool or tractor terminal and operate the rear lift to see if the code returns immediately (hard fault) or intermittently (wiring/connection issue).

   Locate the Sensor

   Locate the rear power lift pressure sensor, which is plumbed into the rear EHR hydraulic control block (usually located under the cab/rear chassis area).

   Depressurize the System

   Ensure the tractor is turned off, the implement is fully lowered to the ground, and all hydraulic pressure in the rear lift circuit is relieved.

   Disconnect the Harness

   Unplug the electrical connector from the pressure sensor. Clean the connector contacts if any dirt or corrosion is present.

   Remove the Sensor

   Using the appropriate wrench, carefully unscrew the faulty pressure sensor from the hydraulic block/T-fitting. Have a rag ready to catch any residual hydraulic oil.

   Install the New Sensor

   Thread the new pressure sensor into the port. Tighten to the OEM torque specification (do not overtighten, as this can damage the sensor diaphragm or the block).

   Reconnect and Test

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Start the tractor, clear the 8.3.38 fault code, and test the rear power lift's automatic and manual functions to ensure the repair is successful and no leaks are present.
