Check the cause
Use the FENDIAS diagnostic tool or the tractor's Variotronic Ti terminal to confirm the active 8.3.39 fault code
Locate the 'Rapid lowering / hitch' switch, designated as component S071 in Fendt wiring diagrams
Inspect switch S071 for physical wear, sticking contacts, or moisture ingress
Consult the 'Electrohydraulic power lift control' circuit diagram and test the continuity of the wiring harness between switch S071 and the REAR EPC module
Look for corroded pins or loose connectors at the separating point
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Switch
Unscrew the retaining screws on the side console/armrest where the power lift controls are located and swivel the console downwards to access the underside.
Disconnect Wiring
Locate the rapid lowering / hitch lift switch (S071). Carefully detach the electrical separating point (connector) from the bottom of the toggle switch.
Remove the Switch
Unclip or unscrew the faulty switch from its mounting insert and pull it out of the console.
Install New Part
Insert the replacement switch into the console slot until it clicks or is seated securely into place.
Reconnect
Reattach the electrical connector to the new switch. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the contacts to prevent future corrosion.
Reassembly & Testing
Swivel the console back into position and secure it with the screws. Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, clear the stored fault codes via the terminal, and test the rapid lowering/hitch lift functionality.
