Fendt 9.1.52 – A002 ECU: Spool valve fault — Supply voltage < 8 volts
Issue description
When the voltage drops below the 8-volt threshold, the spool valve's internal electromagnet cannot function reliably. As a safety consequence, the system forces the affected valve into the neutral (floating/locked) position to prevent uncontrolled hydraulic movements, and the function is disabled.

Check the cause
Verify that the tractor's battery and alternator are outputting a healthy 12-14V.
Inspect power supply fuses F040 and F041 for the CAN bus and auxiliary valves located on the A013 printed circuit board.
Disconnect the wiring harness at the affected spool valve (e.g., Y019) and measure the supply voltage at the connector pins with the ignition on (must read battery voltage).
Check for high resistance, chafed wires, or corroded ground points in the harness between the A002 ECU, the fuse panel, and the valve block.
Verify the CAN II lines (Pins 4 and 5) at the valve connector (X641/X642) for proper communication voltage.
Repair steps
Power down and depressurize
Turn off the tractor, relieve all hydraulic pressure by cycling the controls, and disconnect the battery ground cable.
Access the valve block
Locate the central control block (ZSB) or the front power lift valve block. This is often accessible from the right side of the tractor, requiring the removal of the right entrance step footplate or side access flap.
Repair wiring harness
If diagnostic checks revealed less than 8V at the connector, trace the harness back to the A013 board. Repair any broken wires or replace corroded connector terminals.
Replace spool valve
If the harness delivers full battery voltage but the code persists, the valve's internal circuit board/magnet output stage has failed. Disconnect the electrical connector, unbolt the faulty spool valve (use a catch pan for oil), clean the mating surface, and install the new valve with new O-rings/seals. Torque mounting bolts to OEM specifications.
Calibrate new valve
Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and use the Fendt Varioterminal or FENDIAS diagnostic software to clear stored fault codes. Perform a valve calibration / 'Teach-In' procedure so the A002 ECU recognizes the new valve's travel limits.
