Fendt 9.1.54 – Enhanced Control ECU: Auxiliary control valve / Spool valve fault
Issue description
Main piston travel within the auxiliary control valve (spool valve) is too short. This condition is triggered when the hydraulic control pressure drops below 22 bar, preventing the valve actuator from reaching its commanded position, or due to highly viscous cold oil. The system forces the affected valve into the neutral position.

Check the cause
Check Hydraulic Oil Temperature: Ensure the tractor is at proper operating temperature. Cold, highly viscous oil can cause this fault.
Test Control Pressure: Connect a hydraulic pressure gauge to test port M5. Verify if the control pressure is dropping below the 22 bar threshold during operation.
Test the Diaphragm Accumulator: A failed accumulator will cause sudden pressure drops in the pilot control circuit.
Test RV7 / FP: Inspect the pressure relief valve (RV7) and related pilot circuit components for bypassing or failure.
Repair steps
Warm-Up & Clear
Bring the tractor's hydraulic oil up to normal operating temperature. Clear the fault code via the dash panel or FENDIAS diagnostic tool and cycle the valve to see if the code returns.
Pressure Verification
If the code returns, relieve system pressure and attach a gauge to the M5 test port. Actuate the valve. If pressure drops below 22 bar, the issue is in the supply/pilot circuit, not the valve itself.
Accumulator & Relief Valve Service
If pressure is low, test the diaphragm accumulator charge. Replace the accumulator if it has lost its nitrogen charge. Inspect the RV7 pressure relief valve for debris or a broken spring; clean or replace as necessary.
Valve Inspection
If pilot pressure at M5 is a steady >22 bar but the valve still throws code 9.1.54, the Y019 auxiliary control valve's internal piston is physically binding or the actuator has failed.
Replacement
Remove the metal panel behind the hydraulic oil tank (right entry side) to access the enhanced control valves. Disconnect the electrical harness (X330 connector) and hydraulic lines to the Y019 valve. Swap in the replacement spool valve/solenoid, reconnect lines, and bleed the hydraulic system.
Calibration
Use the FENDIAS system or the tractor's Teach-In terminal to calibrate the new valve limits if required.
