9.1.5F

Fendt 9.1.5F – Enhanced Control ECU (A002): Spool valve fault — Setpoint message missing / not plausible.

Issue description

The control module is receiving incorrect messages on the CAN bus from the valve, or the configuration/setpoint messages are missing or implausible. This is typically caused by a potentiometer fault, a PWM signal fault, or faulty internal electronics within the valve itself. As a safety consequence, the affected valve automatically defaults to the neutral position, and valve actuation becomes impossible.

Check the cause

  1. Check the wiring harness and CAN bus communication lines leading to the Y019 valve (Valve 5) at Connector X330

  2. Verify the power supply to the valve (voltage must be between 8V and 18V)

  3. Check the potentiometer and PWM signals for irregularities or shorts that could cause an implausible reading

  4. Verify via the diagnostic terminal if the valve is currently registered on the CAN bus

Repair steps

  1. Inspect and Clean

Inspect the X330 connector at Valve 5 (Y019) for corrosion, moisture, or backed-out pins. Clean and secure the connection.

  2. Clear and Retest

Clear the fault codes using the tractor's terminal and cycle the ignition to see if the code returns (indicating a hard fault rather than a transient communication glitch).

  3. Replace the Valve

If the wiring and voltage are intact, the OEM service manual states that the cause is 'Electronics in valve faulty' and the official remedial action is to 'Replace valve'.

  4. EOL Programming

After installing the new auxiliary control valve, the system may require End-of-Line (EOL) reprogramming via the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to properly register the new valve to position 5 on the CAN bus.
