Fendt 9.1.D1 – Enhanced Control ECU (A002): S022 - "Lower" front power lift external pushbutton — Key fault.
Issue description
The system has detected a signal fault or malfunction with the external "Lower" button (S022) for the front power lift. This is typically caused by a faulty button, a wiring/signal fault, or the button being physically stuck. The front power lift cannot be lowered properly using the external controls, and the button is rendered inoperable until the next trouble-free cold start.

Check the cause
Inspect the S022 external pushbutton on the front power lift for physical damage, packed dirt, or debris, ensuring the button springs back freely.
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the S022 switch for chafed wires, broken connections, or corrosion inside the 2-pin connector.
Perform a continuity test on the switch using a multimeter to ensure proper continuity when pressed and released (a shorted or open circuit indicates internal failure).
Perform a cold start reset by cycling the tractor's power after cleaning the button to see if the fault clears.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and remove the key to ensure the ECU is powered down.
Access the Switch
Locate the external front power lift control panel on the front of the tractor.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the S022 "Lower" switch. Clean the harness connector with electrical contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease to prevent future corrosion.
Remove the Switch
Unclip or unscrew the faulty S022 pushbutton from its mounting housing.
Install the New Switch
Insert the replacement switch into the housing and secure it.
Reconnect
Plug the wiring harness back into the switch.
Clear Codes & Test
Turn the tractor on (cold start). Use the tractor's terminal/dashboard to navigate to the fault code memory and clear the stored 9.1.D1 code. Test the external "Lower" button to confirm the front power lift operates smoothly.
