9.3.11

Fendt 9.3.11 – Rear EPC (Electrohydraulic Power Control) module / E-box: Rear EPC, 'Raise' function — Fault in signal line to valve.

Issue description

This code indicates an electrical circuit malfunction in the signal line communicating with the Y021 solenoid valve, which controls the 'Raise' function of the rear power lift. The system has detected an anomaly such as a short circuit to ground, a short circuit to battery voltage (+UB), or a break/open circuit in the wiring. As a safety measure, the electrohydraulic power lift control is locked, and the rear lift will not raise.

Check the cause

  1. Locate the Y021 solenoid valve on the rear hydraulic control block and inspect the wiring harness and X332 connector for corrosion, pinched wires, or disconnected pins.

  2. Use a multimeter to check the signal line for continuity from the E-box to the Y021 valve, and test for a short to ground or a short to power (+UB).

  3. Test the Y021 solenoid coil resistance to check for an internal short or open circuit.

  4. Attempt a mechanical override of the Y021 valve to verify if the hydraulic valve spool is physically seized or if the issue is strictly electrical.

  5. Verify that the E-box is sending the correct voltage signal when the 'Raise' command is triggered.

Repair steps

  1. Secure the Machine

Relieve the rear lifting gear of any load (lower implements to the ground), switch off the engine, and engage the safety lock.

  2. Access the Valve Block

Remove the right rear wheel or protective metal guards as necessary to access the enhanced control hydraulics valve block where the Y021 solenoid is located.

  3. Disconnect and Clean

Disconnect the X332 connector at the Y021 solenoid. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. If the connector is damaged, splice in a new OEM pigtail connector.

  4. Replace the Solenoid

If the diagnostic tests proved the solenoid coil is dead, unscrew the faulty Y021 solenoid cartridge/coil from the valve block and install the replacement part.

  5. Reassemble and Clear Codes

Reconnect the wiring harness. Turn the tractor on and use the tractor's terminal or the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to clear the stored 9.3.11 fault code.

  6. Test Operation

Test the rear power lift using both the in-cab controls and the external pushbuttons to ensure the 'Raise' function operates smoothly without throwing the code again.
