9.3.22

Fendt 9.3.22 – EPC C (Electronic Power Control): Front EPC rotary position sensor — Signal fault

Issue description

The Electronic Power Control (EPC) system is detecting an invalid, missing, or out-of-range signal from the rotary position sensor that monitors the angle/height of the front power lift (hitch), triggering a 'Control locked' state.

Check the cause

  1. Verify that the EPC module is delivering an 8.5V supply voltage to the sensor connector

  2. Check the sensor output signal for a 4-20mA current loop (below 4mA indicates an open circuit, above 20mA indicates a short circuit)

  3. Inspect the wiring harness from the front EPC rotary position sensor back to the EPC control unit for breaks, chafing, or severe corrosion at the connector pins

  4. Ensure the mechanical arm/linkage connecting the front lift arm to the rotary sensor has not snapped, bent, or come loose

Repair steps

  1. Access the Sensor

Locate the front EPC rotary position sensor mounted on the front power lift assembly.

  2. Disconnect & Remove

Disconnect the electrical harness. Unbolt the sensor from its mounting bracket and detach the rotary linkage arm.

  3. Install Replacement

Mount the new sensor and reattach the mechanical linkage, ensuring it is positioned within its standard travel range.

  4. Reconnect & Clear Codes

Reconnect the 8.5V / 4-20mA electrical harness. Access the tractor's terminal/multiple display to clear the stored 9.3.22 fault code from the memory.

  5. Calibration

Perform an EOL (End of Line) programming or a lift calibration procedure via the terminal so the ECU can learn the new sensor's minimum and maximum travel limits.
