Fendt 9.3.23 – EPC C (Electronic Power Control): Front EPC 'Depth control' setpoint setting — Signal line fault
Issue description
The control unit is not receiving a valid signal from the rotary potentiometer used to set the depth control for the front power lift (Front EPC). As a consequence, the system will lock the front power lift controls for safety.

Check the cause
Verify the supply voltage (typically 8.5V or 9.5V) from the A013 fuse board/ECU is present at the potentiometer connector.
Inspect the signal line wiring harness between the A004 control console (multifunction armrest) and the EPC C module for continuity, chafing, or pin corrosion.
Test the potentiometer using a multimeter to measure the resistance sweep of the depth control rotary dial. Look for dropouts, spikes to infinity, or dead spots.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent CAN-bus voltage spikes.
Access the Control Console
Carefully disassemble the A004 control console / multifunction armrest to access the underside of the Front EPC rotary controls.
Replace the Potentiometer
Disconnect the wiring harness from the faulty depth control potentiometer. Remove the retaining nut/clip holding the rotary dial in place and swap in the new potentiometer.
Reassemble
Reconnect the wiring harness and reassemble the armrest console.
Perform Calibration
Using the tractor's Varioterminal or FENDIAS diagnostic software, run Calibration Code 9001 (Front EPC - depth control). Follow the on-screen prompts to sweep the dial through its full range.
Clear Codes
Clear the stored 9.3.23 fault code from the memory and test the front power lift for proper operation.
