Fendt 9.3.24 – EPC C: Front power lift 'lift height limit' rotary control — Signal fault
Issue description
The control module is receiving an erratic, missing, or out-of-range electrical signal from the potentiometer responsible for setting the upper stop position (maximum lift height) of the front power lift, triggering a 'Control locked' state.

Check the cause
Verify the fault state by confirming the front EPC is locked out and checking active fault codes on the multi-display.
Inspect the rotary control (P1 or P3) on the armrest console for physical damage, sticking, or a broken internal stop.
Check the wiring harness and connector under the control console for loose connections, backed-out pins, or chafed wires.
Test the sensor supply voltage to ensure the potentiometer is receiving the correct reference voltage (typically 8.5V or 9.5V) and has a good ground.
Perform a sweep test on the potentiometer using a multimeter or FENDIAS software to ensure the signal voltage scales smoothly without dropouts.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Console
Disassemble the right-hand control armrest/console to gain access to the underside of the rotary control panel.
Remove the Faulty Component
Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the front power lift height limit potentiometer. Remove the retaining nut or locking tabs holding the rotary control in place and extract the faulty unit.
Install the New Part
Insert the replacement genuine Fendt rotary control potentiometer, secure it, and plug in the electrical connector.
Reassemble
Reinstall the armrest/console covers.
Reconnect Power
Reconnect the tractor's battery.
Clear Fault Codes
Clear the stored fault codes from the tractor's memory. On many Vario models, this can be done by simultaneously pressing keys D, B, and C on the multi-display.
Test Operation
Turn the tractor on and test the front power lift. Verify that the "Control locked" state is cleared and that the lift height limit adjusts correctly when the rotary control is turned.
