9.3.26

Fendt 9.3.26 – EPC C (EPC e-box A005): External position sensor for front power lift — Signal line fault

Issue description

The signal from the external position sensor for the front power lift is disrupted, out of position, or the sensor itself has failed, causing the system to terminate and lock the control of the front power lift to prevent unintended movement.

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the physical mounting of the external position sensor on the front power lift to ensure it has not been knocked out of position or mechanically damaged.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness between the external position sensor and the EPC e-box (A005) for broken wires, chafing, or short circuits.

  3. Disconnect the sensor and check the pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or loose connections.

  4. Test the sensor's output signal voltage (the system expects a stable voltage; drops below 1V or spikes indicate internal sensor failure).

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to de-energize the EPC system.

  2. Repair Wiring

If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire or corroded connector on the signal line, repair the harness or replace the connector plug.

  3. Replace Sensor

If the wiring is intact but the sensor is faulty or mechanically broken, unbolt the defective external position sensor from the front power lift linkage.

  4. Install New Sensor

Mount the new position sensor, ensuring the mechanical linkage/angle aligns correctly with the lift arms so it reads the true position.

  5. Reconnect

Plug the wiring harness back into the sensor.

  6. Clear Codes

Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and use the tractor's terminal or a diagnostic tool to clear the stored 9.3.26 fault code from the EPC C memory.

  7. Test Operation

Test the front power lift using the cab controls and external buttons to confirm the lift raises and lowers smoothly and the control lock has been lifted.
