Fendt 9.3.34 – EPC C (Electrohydraulic Power Control) / Enhanced Control ECU (A002): Signal fault from the Front power lift 'Lowering speed' rotary control (potentiometer)

The control module is receiving an out-of-range, missing, or erratic electrical signal from the rotary knob used to set how fast the front hitch lowers. As a safety consequence, the system locks the current setting, meaning the lowering speed can no longer be regulated or changed.

   Visually inspect the lowering speed rotary knob on the side console for physical damage or jamming.

   Disconnect the potentiometer and inspect the connector pins for pushed-out terminals, moisture, or corrosion.

   Test the signal wire, ground, and reference voltage wires between the potentiometer connector and the EPC C module for continuity or short-to-ground.

   Perform a potentiometer sweep test using a multimeter to measure resistance from minimum to maximum, ensuring smooth changes without dead spots.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Console

   Carefully remove the trim panels on the right-hand operator console to access the underside of the EHR (Electrohydraulic Regulation) control panel.

   Remove the Faulty Switch

   Disconnect the wiring harness plug from the lowering speed rotary control. Remove the retaining nut or locking tabs securing the potentiometer to the console faceplate and pull the switch out.

   Install the New Part

   Insert the replacement potentiometer into the console, secure it with the retaining hardware, and reattach the control knob on top.

   Reconnect

   Plug the wiring harness back into the new potentiometer. Reassemble the console trim panels.

   Clear Codes and Calibrate

   Reconnect the battery and turn on the ignition. Access the tractor's onboard diagnostic terminal to clear the stored 9.3.34 fault code.

   Test Operation

   Engage the front power lift and verify that adjusting the rotary control successfully changes the implement lowering speed.
