Issue description

Spool valve fault, valve 1 — Overvoltage (> 45 volts). As a safety measure, the valve automatically moves into the neutral position and locks out further operation.

Check the cause

  1. Identify the correct valve: Y015 corresponds to auxiliary control valve 1, which is color-coded Yellow on the hydraulic remotes.

  2. Check system voltage (overcharging cause): Test the tractor's alternator and voltage regulator output. If the alternator is overcharging, multiple overvoltage codes will be present.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness (short circuit cause): If A.1.15 is the only code, locate connector X326 at the valve. Inspect pins 23, 24, and 26 for corrosion, water ingress, or wiring that has rubbed through and shorted to a higher voltage source.

  4. Test CAN communication: Verify the CAN II bus lines (pins 4 and 5) to ensure the ECU is receiving accurate diagnostic data from the valve's internal sensors.

  5. Evaluate for internal valve failure: If the wiring harness and system voltage test fine, the valve's internal circuit board has likely failed and is reporting a false overvoltage spike to the ECU.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

    Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all hydraulic implements, relieve hydraulic system pressure, and disconnect the battery.

  2. Access the Valve Block

    The central control block (ZSB) is located on the right side of the tractor, typically under the cab. Remove the right rear wheel (if necessary for clearance) and the protective metal flap/panels to access the valve stack.

  3. Disconnect Valve 1 (Y015)

    Locate the first valve in the stack (Yellow). Disconnect the X326 electrical connector.

  4. Remove the Valve

    Clean the area thoroughly to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system. Unbolt the tie rods/mounting bolts holding the valve slice to the central block.

  5. Install the New Valve

    Insert the replacement valve, ensuring all O-rings are properly seated and lubricated with clean hydraulic oil. Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications.

  6. Reconnect and Reassemble

    Plug in the X326 connector. Reinstall the protective panels.

  7. EOL Programming

    The new auxiliary control valve must be programmed for 'Position 1' using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool (End-of-Line / EOL programming) so the ECU recognizes it on the CAN bus.

  8. Clear Codes and Test

    Reconnect the battery, clear the A.1.15 fault code via the Varioterminal or FENDIAS, and test the yellow remote for proper function.
