Fendt A.1.16 – Enhanced Control ECU (A002): Magnet output stage fault within spool valve

Issue description

The system has detected an electrical failure within the internal electronics or the pilot control solenoid magnet of Spool Valve 1. As a safety measure, the valve automatically defaults to the neutral position and remains locked out.

Check the cause

Locate Valve 1 on the hydraulic block (designated as component Y015).
Inspect the electrical connector at the valve (connector X326) for moisture, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.
Check the wiring harness between the Enhanced Control ECU and the Y015 valve for continuity, shorts to ground, or shorts to power.
Ensure the valve is receiving proper operating voltage (stable 12V supply).

Repair steps

Depressurize the System
Turn off the tractor, lower all hydraulic implements to the ground, and relieve hydraulic pressure.
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Remove the Solenoid/Valve
Disconnect the X326 electrical connector from the Y015 valve. Depending on the specific valve revision, replace just the electronic pilot control head (solenoid actuator) or unbolt the entire Spool Valve 1 slice from the hydraulic stack.
Install the Replacement
Mount the new valve section or solenoid head, ensuring all O-rings are properly seated to prevent leaks. Torque the tie-rod bolts to the manufacturer's specification.
Reconnect and Bleed
Reconnect the X326 wiring harness. Top off the hydraulic fluid (Fendt Super Hyd or STOU SAE 10W-40 depending on climate/manual specs) and operate the hydraulics to bleed air from the system.
Clear Codes
Use the FENDIAS diagnostic tool or the tractor's terminal to clear the A.1.16 fault code and verify normal operation.
