A.1.16

Fendt A.1.16 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: Output fault at control valve magnet / End stage error (Y015 - Auxiliary control valve)

Issue description

The system detects an electrical fault at the output stage of the valve's magnet/solenoid. As a safety measure, the valve automatically moves into the neutral position, and no valve operation is available for that specific hydraulic circuit.

Check the cause

  1. Locate the Y015 valve (the first spool valve in the hydraulic block, color-coded yellow) and inspect the electrical connector at the pilot control solenoid for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture ingress.

  2. Check the wiring harness between the A002 ECU and the Y015 valve for continuity, shorts to ground, or shorts to power.

  3. Measure the resistance of the valve magnet (solenoid coil) to determine if the coil itself has failed (open or shorted internally).

  4. Look for accompanying codes (e.g., A.1.11, A.1.13, or A.1.17). If multiple valves are dropping out, the issue is likely the CAN bus or ECU power supply rather than the individual valve.

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

Turn off the tractor, lower all hydraulic implements to the ground, and cycle the hydraulic controls to relieve any residual pressure in the system.

  2. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

  3. Remove the Faulty Component

If the pilot control solenoid is available as a separate serviceable item, unbolt and replace the solenoid. If the output stage failure is internal to the valve's integrated electronics, the entire Y015 spool valve slice must be replaced. To remove the slice, remove the tie rods securing the hydraulic valve stack, carefully slide out the yellow Y015 valve, and discard the old O-rings.

  4. Install the New Valve

Insert the replacement valve using a new O-ring seal kit between the slices. Reinstall the tie rods and torque them to the manufacturer's specification.

  5. Reconnect & Calibrate

Reconnect the electrical harness and the battery.

  6. EOL Programming

A new electronic spool valve must be registered to the tractor's CAN bus. Use the FENDIAS diagnostic tool (or the tractor's Variotronic terminal, depending on the model year) to perform End-of-Line (EOL) programming and valve calibration.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • Electronic Auxiliary Control Valve (Spool Valve 1 / Yellow) / Pilot Control Solenoid

The exact part number varies heavily depending on the tractor's specific model, year, and hydraulic pump flow capacity. Consult the AGCO/Fendt parts catalog with the tractor's VIN.

  • Valve stack O-ring seal kit

Required when splitting the valve block.

  • Hydraulic Quick Release Coupling

    G718960110100

Short type coupler, if replacement is needed due to wear.
