A.1.17

Fendt A.1.17 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: Spool valve fault, valve 1 - Internal position sensor fault

Issue description

The internal position sensor of the Y015 Auxiliary control valve (Valve 1, designated by the color yellow) fails or sends an invalid signal. As a safety consequence, the system forces the valve to move into the neutral position, and the valve's functions become unavailable.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and Connector X326 (specifically pins 24 and 26) at the Y015 valve for corrosion, backed-out pins, or wire chafing

  2. Verify CAN bus communication by ensuring the valve is communicating properly with the A002 ECU. Check the CAN II bus lines (Pins 4 and 5) for proper voltage and continuity

  3. Check for oil contamination. Ensure the hydraulic oil is clean and the filters are in good condition, as contaminated oil can cause the main piston to stick

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

Ensure the tractor is off, implements are lowered, and the hydraulic system is fully depressurized.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate the Y015 valve on the central control block (ZSB). It is "Valve 1" and is color-coded yellow.

  3. Disconnect

Unplug the X326 electrical connector from the Y015 valve.

  4. Remove the Valve Slice

Unbolt the tie-rods holding the valve block assembly together and carefully remove the faulty Bosch SB 23 LS-EHS valve slice.

  5. Install the New Valve

Insert the replacement valve slice, ensuring the O-rings/sealing plates are properly seated. Torque the tie-rod bolts to the manufacturer specification (typically 30 Nm for the Bosch SB 23 system).

  6. EOL Programming

Reconnect the X326 connector. You must perform an End-of-Line (EOL) programming/teach-in procedure using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool or Variotronic TI terminal. If it is not programmed to Position 1, it will not be recognized on the CAN bus.
