A.1.17

Fendt A.1.17 – Electrical Valves / Spool Valves 1-4 (VALVE 1 / VENDI): Y015 - Spool valve fault, valve 1 — Internal position sensor fault

Issue description

This code indicates that the internal position pickup sensor inside the #1 electronic hydraulic spool valve (designated as component Y015) has failed or is sending an erratic signal. Because the tractor's computer cannot accurately determine the position of the valve spool, the system triggers a safety override, and the valve automatically defaults/moves into the neutral position.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the Y015 valve (Connector X326) for chafing, breaks, or corrosion.

  2. Verify the integrity of the CAN bus communication lines at the connector (specifically pins 24 and 26) and the power/ground supply (pin 23).

  3. Ensure the fault is strictly electrical by ruling out hydraulic oil contamination. If the spool is physically jamming, the system typically throws codes A.1.18 or A.1.19.

  4. If the wiring and voltages are correct and A.1.17 remains active, the internal sensor/circuit board has failed, and the entire valve must be replaced.

Repair steps

  1. Locate the Valve

The Y015 valve is the 1st auxiliary control valve (color-coded yellow for Position 1). It is located on the underside of the central control block (ZSB).

  2. Gain Access

To access the valve block, unscrew and remove the right-hand step, then pull the right auxiliary tank outwards.

  3. Depressurize

Ensure the tractor is off and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system.

  4. Disconnect

Unplug the electrical connector (X326) from the Y015 valve. Mark and disconnect the hydraulic lines attached to this specific slice of the valve block.

  5. Remove and Replace

Unbolt the faulty Y015 valve from the manifold stack and install the replacement valve. Reconnect the hydraulic lines and the electrical connector.

  6. Reassemble

Push the auxiliary tank back into place and reinstall the right step.

  7. Software Calibration

The new auxiliary control valve will not work out of the box. It must be programmed for "Position 1" using the Fendt EOL (End of Line) program via the FENDIAS diagnostic software so the ECU recognizes its specific address on the CAN bus.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Electric Auxiliary Control Valve (Position 1 / Yellow)

Bosch SB 23 LS-EHS (or Bosch SB 23 LS-EHS 2 on COM III models). Fendt does not service the internal sensor separately; the entire Bosch proportional valve slice must be ordered. Exact AGCO/Fendt part numbers vary depending on the specific chassis number and flow rate, so the replacement must be cross-referenced in the Fendt EPC using the tractor's VIN.
