A.1.20

Fendt A.1.20 – Enhanced Control Module (A002): Y016 - Auxiliary control valve (Spool valve fault, valve 2)

Issue description

Valve 2 (component Y016) cannot be recognized by the valve bus. The system disables the valve, resulting in 'No valve operation available' for that specific hydraulic circuit.

Check the cause

  1. Check the CAN Bus lines (CAN II, pins 4 and 5) in the wiring harness between the A002 module and the Y016 valve for breaks or shorts

  2. Inspect the electrical connector on the Y016 spool valve for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or moisture ingress

  3. Verify the valve is receiving proper supply voltage and ground

  4. Perform a swap test by temporarily connecting the harness to an adjacent valve (e.g., Valve 1 or Valve 3) to determine if the fault follows the valve or remains with the wiring

Repair steps

  1. Repair Wiring

If the diagnostic checks reveal a break or short in the CAN II lines (pins 4 and 5) between the A002 controller and the Y016 valve, repair the wiring harness.

  2. Replace the Valve

If the wiring and CAN signals are intact but the valve still fails to communicate, the internal electronics of the Y016 spool valve have failed. The valve must be replaced.

  3. System Bleeding

After replacing the hydraulic valve, ensure the hydraulic system is topped up and bled according to the operator's manual.

  4. Clear Codes and Calibrate

Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool (or equivalent TEXA/multi-brand tool) to clear the stored A.1.20 fault code. You may need to perform an EOL (End of Line) programming or valve calibration procedure so the A002 module recognizes the new valve on the bus.
