Fendt A.1.21 – Enhanced Control ECU for the electric auxiliary control valves (A002 or A013): Y016 - Spool valve fault, valve 2 EEPROM inconsistent

The internal memory (EEPROM) of the valve's electronic controller is corrupted or failing. As a safety consequence, the system forces the valve to move into the neutral position and disables its functions.

   Check for related voltage codes like A.1.22 (Supply voltage < 8 volts) or A.1.23 (Supply voltage > 18 volts), as voltage spikes or drops can cause EEPROM read/write errors.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector X327 (for Y016 Valve 2) for corrosion, moisture, or pin damage that could disrupt CAN communication or power.

   Attempt to clear the code using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool. If the code immediately returns upon key-on, the EEPROM failure is hard-set and requires replacement.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the Y016 valve (Valve 2, designated by the Blue color code), which is the 2nd control valve located on the underside of the central control block.

   Gain Access

   Unscrew and remove the right-hand entry step. Pull the right auxiliary fuel/hydraulic tank outwards to access the central control block.

   Remove the Valve

   Disconnect the X327 electrical connector. Relieve hydraulic system pressure, then unbolt the Y016 valve assembly from the control block manifold.

   Install the New Valve

   Mount the replacement valve, torque to OEM specifications, and reconnect the X327 harness.

   Reassemble

   Push the auxiliary tank back into place and reinstall the right-hand step.

   Perform EOL Programming

   Program the new auxiliary control valve for 'Position 2' using the Fendt EOL (End of Line) program / FENDIAS diagnostic software so the tractor's ECU recognizes it.
