Fendt A.1.22 – Enhanced Control ECU: Y016 (Spool valve 2 / Auxiliary control valve, position 2) Supply voltage < 8 volts
Issue description
Supply voltage is below 8 volts. Due to the low voltage, the system cannot reliably control the valve. As a safety measure, the main piston of the valve automatically moves into the neutral position, and valve operation is disabled.

Check the cause
Check the tractor's battery and alternator to ensure proper system voltage.
Inspect fuses F040 and F041, which supply power to the CAN bus and valve circuit boards.
Locate Spool Valve 2 (color-coded Blue) on the rear hydraulic block and inspect it.
Disconnect electrical connector X327 (pins 24 and 26) for Valve 2 and measure supply voltage at the harness side with the key on. It should be 12V.
Trace the wiring harness from connector X327 back to the ECU, looking for chafed wires, corrosion, or loose grounds that could cause a severe voltage drop.
Repair steps
Resolve Wiring Faults
If the diagnostic tests reveal less than 8 volts at the connector, repair the damaged wiring harness, clean the ground points, or replace the blown/corroded fuse (F040/F041).
Clean Connections
If voltage is borderline, clean connector X327 with electrical contact cleaner, ensure the pins are tight, and apply dielectric grease. Reconnect and clear the codes.
Replace the Spool Valve
If the harness delivers proper voltage but the A.1.22 code remains active (indicating the valve's internal circuit board has failed), the Y016 spool valve must be replaced.
Depressurize the System
Turn off the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure before unbolting the valve from the hydraulic slice block.
Install New Valve
Bolt the new spool valve into position 2 and plug in connector X327.
EOL Programming
Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to teach the new valve to the CAN bus so the ECU recognizes it as Valve 2 in the EOL (End of Line) program.
Parts you might need
(1)Auxiliary Control Valve / Electrohydraulic Spool Valve (Position 2 / Blue)
Specific part numbers vary heavily depending on the exact tractor model and chassis number (e.g., Bosch Rexroth SB-series slices). Reference the tractor's VIN in the Fendt EPC.
