Fendt A.1.23 – Electrical Valves / VENDI: Y016 - Spool valve fault, valve 2 — Supply voltage > 18 volts
Issue description
Overvoltage detection. The internal electronics of the auxiliary control valve (Valve 2, Y016) are measuring a power supply voltage exceeding 18 volts. As a built-in safety consequence, the system forces the valve to move into the neutral position and disables its operation to prevent uncontrolled hydraulic functions.

Check the cause
System Voltage Check: Measure the tractor's overall system voltage at the battery and alternator while the engine is running. If the alternator voltage regulator has failed, it could be sending >18V to the entire system.
Wiring & Connector Inspection: Locate Valve 2 (Y016) at the rear hydraulic block. Disconnect its electrical connector (Connector X327). Inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or damage.
Pin Voltage Test: With the tractor ignition on, use a multimeter to test the supply voltage pins on the tractor-side of connector X327. If the voltage reads a normal 12-14V, the wiring and ECU are fine, meaning the valve's internal circuit board has failed and is falsely reporting an overvoltage.
CAN Bus Check: Verify the CAN High and CAN Low lines between the enhanced control ECU and the valve to ensure there are no shorts to power.
Repair steps
Relieve hydraulic pressure
Turn off the tractor, lower all implements to the ground, and relieve all hydraulic system pressure.
Disconnect electrical connector
Disconnect the X327 electrical connector from the Y016 (Valve 2) spool valve.
Clean valve block area
Clean the area around the hydraulic valve block thoroughly to prevent contamination.
Extract faulty valve section
Unbolt the tie rods/mounting bolts securing the spool valve stack and carefully extract the faulty Y016 valve section.
Install replacement valve
Install the replacement selective control valve section, ensuring new O-rings are used between the slices. Torque the mounting bolts to the manufacturer's specification (e.g., 30 Nm for Bosch SB1 type manifolds).
Reconnect lines and connector
Reconnect the hydraulic lines and the X327 electrical connector.
Perform EOL programming
Connect the FENDIAS / Serdia diagnostic tool. The new valve must be registered to the CAN bus via End-of-Line (EOL) programming and assigned to position 2.
Clear codes and test
Clear the fault codes and test the hydraulic functions.
