A.1.24

Fendt A.1.24 – Enhanced Control ECU (A002): Y016 - Auxiliary control valve 2 Spool valve fault

Issue description

The main piston travel is too short due to a drop in control pressure below 22 bar. The system forces the valve into the neutral position to prevent uncontrolled movements.

Check the cause

  1. Check hydraulic oil temperature, as low temperatures can cause sluggish piston movement and trigger the fault

  2. Test control pressure at test port M5 to ensure it does not drop below 22 bar during valve actuation

  3. Test the diaphragm accumulator for failure, which can cause momentary pressure drops

  4. Inspect the RV7 relief valve and pilot pressure supply circuit

Repair steps

  1. Warm-Up & Clear

Bring the tractor up to normal operating temperature to thin the hydraulic oil. Clear the fault codes via the terminal and actuate the blue remote (Valve 2) to see if the code returns.

  2. Pressure Verification

If the code returns, install a hydraulic pressure gauge at test port M5. Actuate the valve. If the pressure drops below 22 bar, the issue is with the pilot pressure supply (investigate the diaphragm accumulator or RV7 valve).

  3. Valve Inspection

If the control pressure at M5 remains steady above 22 bar but the A.1.24 code still logs, the internal mechanics of the Y016 spool valve are failing (the main piston is physically sticking or the internal position sensor is failing to read full travel).

  4. Valve Replacement

Remove the right-hand step and pull the right auxiliary tank outwards to access the central control block. The Y016 valve is the 2nd control valve on the underside of the block. Replace the valve.

  5. EOL Programming

After installing a new electric spool valve, it must be registered to "Position 2 (blue)" on the CAN bus using Fendt's EOL (End of Line) programming software (FENDIAS).
