A.1.26

Fendt A.1.26 – Enhanced Control ECU (A002): Spool valve fault, valve 2 — Magnet output stage fault within spool valve

Issue description

This fault indicates an internal electrical failure within the solenoid (magnet) output stage of auxiliary hydraulic spool valve 2 (Y016). As a built-in safety consequence, the system automatically forces the valve into the neutral position, and manual/electronic actuation is disabled.

Applies to these machines

  • 409 Vario
  • 410 Vario
  • 411 Vario
  • 412 Vario
  • 711 Vario
  • 712 Vario
  • 714 Vario
  • 715 Vario
  • 716 Vario
  • 717 Vario
  • 718 Vario
  • 916 Vario
  • 920 Vario
  • 924 Vario
  • 926 Vario
  • 930 Vario
  • Farmer 400 series
  • Favorit 700 and Favorit 900 series
  • 300, 400, 700, 800, and 900 Vario (COM III) series

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and the connector (X327) going to Valve 2 (Y016 - typically color-coded blue) for corrosion, moisture, or damaged pins.

  2. Verify that the valve is receiving proper operating voltage (voltage drops below 8V or spikes above 45V can cause valve dropouts).

  3. Ensure CAN II communication is intact (Pins 4 and 5). If the bus line is damaged, the valve cannot be identified by the ECU.

  4. If wiring, voltage, and CAN communication check out perfectly, the internal circuit of Y016 has failed and the valve must be replaced.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and actuate the hydraulic levers/terminal to relieve all residual hydraulic pressure in the system.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate Spool Valve 2 (Y016) in the rear hydraulic valve stack. It is typically associated with the blue color-coded remotes.

  3. Removal

Disconnect the electrical connector (X327). Thoroughly clean the area around the valve stack to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system. Unbolt the tie-rods or mounting bolts securing Valve 2 to the hydraulic block.

  4. Installation

Install the new spool valve, ensuring all O-rings and mating surfaces are perfectly clean and properly seated. Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications.

  5. Reconnection

    Reconnect the electrical harness.

  6. EOL Programming

Program the new auxiliary control valve for its specific position (Position 2) using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool / EOL (End of Line) program. The tractor will not recognize the new valve until it is assigned to position 2 on the CAN bus.

  7. Testing

Clear the stored fault codes. Start the tractor, allow the hydraulic oil to warm up, and test the operation of Valve 2 to ensure smooth function and no leaks.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Electrical Spool Valve / Proportional Hydraulic Solenoid Valve (Valve 2 / Y016)

Specific part numbers vary heavily based on the exact tractor model, generation, and chassis number. Ensure you are purchasing the fully populated electronic valve (with the integrated magnet/solenoid head).
