Issue description
As a safety measure, the system forces the valve to move into the neutral position, disabling the hydraulic function for that specific circuit.

Check the cause
Check for oil contamination in the hydraulic filters and fluid, which is a primary cause of spool valves sticking or deflecting too far.
Inspect the manual actuation mechanism on the valve block to ensure there is no play and the slider returns to the center position by itself without binding.
Check the CAN Bus and wiring harness for Valve 2 (often color-coded blue) for chafing or loose connections.
Verify that the hydraulic system is operating at the correct control pressure (above 22 bar) and that the hydraulic oil is up to operating temperature.
Repair steps
Isolate the System
Turn off the engine, relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system, and clean the area around the valve stack to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic lines.
Remove the Faulty Valve
Disconnect the electrical CAN bus connector for Valve 2 (Y016). Cap all open hydraulic lines and T-connectors immediately. Unbolt the valve from the hydraulic block.
Inspect and Rebuild (Optional)
If the issue is merely a worn seal or minor binding, the valve can sometimes be disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt using an OEM O-ring/seal kit. However, if the internal bore or the metal spool is deeply scored, the valve cannot be saved and must be replaced.
Install the New Valve
Mount the replacement spool valve to the block, torque the mounting bolts to factory specifications, and reconnect the hydraulic lines and electrical harness.
EOL Programming / Calibration
Using a diagnostic tool (like TEXA or FENDIAS), clear the stored A.1.2A error code. Then, run the calibration/parameterization procedure to rewrite the ID code of the new component so the ECU recognizes it.
