Fendt A.1.2A – ELECTRICAL VALVES / VENDI: Spool valve fault, valve 2 (Y016) - Main piston deflected too far

The system detects that the main spool piston has traveled beyond its expected physical or calibrated range. As a safety consequence, the system forces the valve into the neutral position to prevent uncontrolled hydraulic functions.

   Check for hydraulic oil contamination, as debris is a primary cause for spool valves sticking or deflecting improperly.

   Verify control pressure at port M5, test the diaphragm accumulator, and test RV7/FP (pressure should be around 22 bar). Drops in control pressure can cause erratic piston travel.

   Check hydraulic oil temperature to ensure it is up to operating temperature, as cold or thick oil can cause sluggish or out-of-range actuator movement.

   Inspect wiring and connectors, specifically connector X327, which is the dedicated harness connection for the Y016 Valve 2.

   Check the manual actuator for excessive mechanical play and ensure it springs back to the center position by itself.

   Access the Valve Block

   Unscrew and remove the right-hand step.

   Move Obstructions

   Pull the right auxiliary fuel/hydraulic tank outwards to gain access to the central control block.

   Locate Y016

   Locate the central control block on the underside of the tractor. Y016 (Valve 2) is color-coded blue. It is the 2nd control valve on the block. Note: The EPC (Electronic Power Control) valve is located directly between Y015 (Valve 1) and Y016 (Valve 2).

   Remove the Valve

   Disconnect electrical connector X327. Unbolt the SB 23 LS EHS control valve section from the manifold stack, ensuring you catch any residual hydraulic fluid.

   Install the New Valve

   Bolt the new valve into the stack, replacing all O-rings between the valve slices. Reconnect connector X327.

   EOL Programming

   The auxiliary control valve is specifically programmed for 'position 2' in the tractor's EOL (End of Line) program. You must use FENDIAS diagnostic software to calibrate the new valve so the ECU learns its specific neutral and deflection limits.
