Fendt A.1.2B – Spool Valves 1 - 4 / Electrical Valves: Spool valve fault, valve 2 — Floating position is not reached.

The electro-hydraulic auxiliary spool valve in position 2 (designated in Fendt schematics as Y016, color-coded blue) is failing to reach its commanded floating position. As a safety measure, the system automatically forces the valve to move into the neutral position and locks it to prevent uncontrolled hydraulic functions.

   Verify if the valve was manually overridden (manual actuation deflects it from its neutral position).

   Inspect hydraulic filters and oil condition for contamination that can cause the main piston inside the spool valve to jam.

   Check the CAN II bus wiring (specifically pins 4 and 5) to valve Y016.

   Verify the supply voltage to the valve is between 8 Volts and 18 Volts.

   Check for overvoltage spikes (> 45V).

   Test for a failing internal position pickup sensor or an end-stage error in the pilot control solenoid.

   Relieve Hydraulic Pressure

   Ensure the tractor is turned off, the implement is lowered, and all hydraulic pressure is relieved from the system before servicing the valve block.

   Locate Valve Y016

   Locate the auxiliary control valve block. Identify Valve 2 (Y016), which is typically color-coded blue.

   Inspect Wiring Harness

   Disconnect the electrical connector to Valve 2. Inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or damage. Clean and reconnect if necessary, then clear the code to see if it returns.

   Remove the Spool Valve

   If the wiring is sound and the valve is mechanically binding or internally failing to reach the float position, the spool valve assembly must be removed. Unbolt the valve section from the hydraulic manifold stack.

   Install Replacement Valve

   Install the new electro-hydraulic spool valve section, ensuring all O-rings are properly seated to prevent leaks.

   EOL Programming

   According to Fendt service documentation, a newly installed auxiliary control valve must be programmed for its specific position (Position 2) using the FENDIAS EOL (End of Line) diagnostic software.

   Test Operation

   Clear the fault codes and actuate the valve via the multifunction armrest to confirm the floating position is now successfully reached.
