Fendt A.1.2C – A002 ECU: Spool valve fault, valve 2 — Floating position has been set manually
Issue description
The system has detected that the auxiliary control valve #2 (component designation Y016, color-coded blue) has been manually deflected into the floating position using the mechanical override on the valve block, rather than being triggered electronically via the cab controls.

Check the cause
Verify with the operator if they intentionally used the manual override lever on the #2 (blue) rear spool valve to force it into float mode.
Inspect the manual actuator on the Y016 valve block to ensure it has no play and springs back to the center (neutral) position by itself.
Check if the main piston is physically stuck in the deflected position, which is commonly caused by hydraulic oil contamination.
Repair steps
Acknowledge the Code
Note that the direct system consequence of code A.1.2C is 'No consequences,' as it is an informational code rather than a hard failure.
Clear the Code
If the valve was intentionally put into the floating position manually, no repair is necessary. Simply return the valve to neutral and clear the fault code from the tractor's memory.
Free a Stuck Valve
If the code persists and the valve is stuck in the float position without operator intervention, carefully manipulate the manual override to see if it is binding.
Clean or Replace
If the main piston cannot return to the neutral position due to internal binding or heavy oil contamination, the Y016 valve section must be removed and either thoroughly cleaned or replaced.
Parts you might need
(1)Auxiliary control valve, position 2 (blue) / Spool valve 2 (Y016)
Exact OEM part numbers depend heavily on the specific chassis number and whether the tractor has a single or twin E-box setup. When replacing or swapping the Y016 valve, the new auxiliary control valve must be programmed for 'position 2' using the FENDIAS EOL (End-Of-Line) programming tool.
