Fendt A.1.2F – ELECTRICAL VALVES: Spool valve fault, valve 2
Issue description
Setpoint message is missing or not plausible, or the configuration message is missing or not plausible. Typically caused by a potentiometer or PWM signal fault. As a safety consequence, the system forces the valve to move into the neutral position and locks it out.
Applies to these machines

Check the cause
Check the setpoint and actual value display for SPOOL VALVES 1-4 on the tractor's terminal for discrepancies in Valve 2 (Y016)
Inspect the Variotronic multifunction joystick or actuator controlling Valve 2 to ensure it centers by itself and has no excessive play
Check the CAN-BUS and wiring harness (referencing Sheet 28 for Y016) for broken wires or corroded pins causing a loss of the setpoint signal
Verify that the supply voltage to the valve is within the normal operating range of 8 to 18 Volts
Repair steps
Clear and Rescan
Connect a diagnostic tool (such as TEXA or FENDIAS) to the tractor's diagnostic socket. Scan the Comfort BUS and Hydraulic Valve BUS to see if the A.1.2F error is active or stored.
Test the Joystick
If the diagnostic tool shows the joystick potentiometer is failing to send a plausible PWM signal, the joystick itself may need to be repaired or replaced.
Inspect the Valve Electronics
If the joystick is sending the correct signal, the fault lies in the electronics of the Y016 valve itself. Disconnect the electrical coupler at Valve 2 and check for moisture, corrosion, or pin damage.
Replace the Valve/Solenoid
If the valve's internal electronics (EEPROM/configuration) have failed, replace the auxiliary control valve or its solenoid.
EOL Programming / Calibration
If a new valve or joystick is installed, or if the configuration message was lost, you must perform EOL (End of Line) programming/calibration using the diagnostic tool so the Valve Bus recognizes the new component.
