Fendt A.1.32 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: Auxiliary control valve Y017 (Spool Valve 3) supply voltage < 8 volts
Issue description
The supply voltage to the auxiliary control valve Y017 (Spool Valve 3) has dropped below 8 volts. As a built-in safety mechanism, the low voltage causes the valve actuator to fail, and the valve automatically moves into the neutral position.

Check the cause
Check fuses F040 and F041 on printed circuit board A013, which supply power for the CAN bus and the auxiliary valves.
Perform a voltage drop test by measuring the supply voltage directly at the electrical connector for valve Y017 (Valve 3) to ensure it is receiving standard system voltage (above 8V).
Inspect the wiring harness between the A002 ECU, the A013 circuit board, and the Y017 valve for chafing, corrosion, or loose connector pins that could cause high resistance.
Isolate the valve by swapping the electrical connector from Y017 (Valve 3) with an adjacent valve (e.g., Y016 / Valve 2). If the low-voltage fault follows the connector, the issue is in the tractor's wiring. If the fault stays with the Y017 valve, the valve's internal solenoid/electronics are failing.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Turn off the tractor and actuate the hydraulic levers/joystick to relieve all hydraulic pressure from the auxiliary circuits.
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.
Wiring Repair
If the diagnostic checks revealed a wiring fault, repair the damaged section of the harness or replace the corroded connector at the valve.
Valve Replacement
If the valve is faulty, disconnect the electrical harness from the Y017 valve. Clean the area around the auxiliary control valve block thoroughly to prevent system contamination. Unbolt the faulty spool valve section (Valve 3) from the central hydraulic distributor block. Install the new auxiliary control valve using new O-rings and torque the mounting bolts to the manufacturer's specification.
Reassembly and Calibration
Reconnect the electrical harness and the battery.
EOL Programming
Using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool, perform an EOL (End of Line) teach-in program to register the new valve's position on the CAN bus.
