Fendt A.1.32 – Enhanced Control ECU (A002) / EHR module: Spool valve fault, valve 3 — Supply voltage < 8 volts
Issue description
The electrical supply voltage to auxiliary control valve 3 (Y017) has dropped below the minimum operating threshold of 8 volts. As a safety measure, the system forces the valve into the neutral position, disabling its hydraulic function to prevent uncontrolled movements.

Check the cause
Measure the voltage directly at the wiring harness connector for valve Y017 (Valve 3) to verify if the voltage is actually dropping below 8V or if the valve's internal voltage sensor has failed.
Check fuses F040 and F041 located on printed circuit board A013, which protect the voltage supply for the CAN bus and electric auxiliary control valves.
Inspect the wiring loom between the Enhanced Control ECU (A002), circuit board A013, and the Y017 valve for chafing, corrosion, or loose pins.
Use the FENDIAS diagnostic software or the in-cab Variotronic Ti terminal to monitor live voltage readings at the valve to see if the voltage drop is constant or intermittent.
Repair steps
Access the Valve Block
Locate the auxiliary control valves on the underside of the central control block. On larger models (like the 900 series), access requires unscrewing the right entrance step and pulling the right auxiliary tank outwards.
Repair Wiring
If diagnostic checks reveal a voltage drop in the harness, repair the damaged section of the wiring or replace the corroded connector.
Replace the Valve/EHR Module
If the supply voltage at the plug is a healthy 12V+ but the code persists, the valve's internal electronics have failed. Relieve all hydraulic pressure, disconnect the electrical connector and hydraulic lines from Valve 3 (Y017), unbolt the slice from the stack, and install the replacement valve or swap the electronic EHR head using new O-rings.
Calibration / EOL Programming
After replacing an electro-hydraulic valve, perform End-of-Line (EOL) programming or calibration via the FENDIAS dealer software so the Enhanced Control ECU can recognize the new valve on the CAN bus and learn its spool travel limits.
