Fendt A.1.33 – ECU, enhanced control (A002): Y017 - Spool valve, valve 3 supply voltage exceeded 18 volts
Issue description
Supply voltage to the Y017 spool valve has exceeded 18 volts. The valve's internal electronics force the main piston into the neutral position, and valve operation is locked out to prevent uncontrolled hydraulic movements.

Check the cause
Check System Charging Voltage: Test the tractor's alternator output at the battery to rule out a failed voltage regulator causing an overcharge.
Measure Voltage at the Valve: Disconnect the harness at the Y017 valve (Connector X328, pins 24 and 26) and measure the supply voltage directly with a multimeter while the tractor is running.
Inspect the Wiring Harness: Check the wiring harness between the ECU/power distribution and the valve for any shorts to a higher voltage source.
Check CAN Power Supply: Inspect the power supply for the CAN bus located in circuit board A013, and verify the condition of fuses F040 and F041.
Repair steps
Check system voltage at the battery
Start the tractor and use a multimeter to check the system voltage at the battery. If the voltage is reading above 18 volts, the alternator voltage regulator has failed. Replace the alternator or regulator to resolve the overcharging issue.
Disconnect connector X328 from Valve 3
If the global system voltage is normal (typically 12-14.4 volts), proceed to the rear hydraulic block and disconnect connector X328 from Valve 3 (Y017).
Measure voltage at connector pins
Measure the voltage at the connector pins. If the voltage here is abnormally high despite a normal battery voltage, trace the wiring harness back to the ECU to locate and repair the short circuit.
Replace the spool valve
If the measured voltage at the connector is perfectly normal (under 18V) but the A.1.33 fault code persists, the internal circuit board/sensor of the Y017 spool valve has failed and is misreporting the voltage. The spool valve itself must be replaced.
Clear fault codes and perform EOL programming
After replacing the valve, clear the fault codes via the terminal. A new valve will need to be recognized by the valve bus, which may require EOL (End of Line) programming/calibration using FENDIAS dealer software so the ECU recognizes the new component.
