A.1.34

Fendt A.1.34 – ELECTRICAL VALVES VALVE 3 / VENDI: Y017 - Auxiliary control valve (Spool valve 3, red position)

Issue description

The main piston travel is too short due to a drop in control pressure below 22 bar. The valve automatically moves into the neutral position to prevent uncontrolled functions.

Applies to these machines

  • 412 Vario COM III
  • 413 Vario COM III
  • 414 Vario COM III
  • 415 Vario COM III
  • 712 Vario COM III
  • 714 Vario COM III
  • 716 Vario COM III
  • 718 Vario COM III
  • 818 Vario COM III

  • Fendt Favorit 900 / 900 Vario (COM III)

Check the cause

  1. Check hydraulic oil temperature to ensure the tractor is properly warmed up, ruling out cold, viscous oil.

  2. Connect a gauge to test port M5 to verify if the control pressure is dropping below the 22 bar threshold.

  3. Check the nitrogen diaphragm accumulator (0.32-liter capacity) responsible for control pressure.

  4. Inspect the non-return valve (RV7) in the priority valve block for leaks or failure.

Repair steps

  1. Warm up the system

Run the tractor to ensure hydraulic oil is at operating temperature to rule out cold, viscous oil causing pressure drops.

  2. Access the Central Control Block (ZSB)

The hydraulic components are located on the right side of the tractor. Unscrew and remove the right entrance step and pull the right auxiliary tank outwards to gain access to the underside of the central control block.

  3. Inspect the Accumulator

Locate the diaphragm accumulator on the underside of the end plate (EP) near the right entrance step. If it has lost its nitrogen charge, replace it.

  4. Inspect RV7

Locate and test non-return valve RV7. Replace if it is failing to hold control pressure.

  5. Replace Valve Y017

If the control pressure supply is healthy but the valve itself is internally leaking or failing to stroke, locate Y017 (Valve 3, designated by the red position). Disconnect the electrical harness, unbolt the slice from the hydraulic bank, and install the replacement spool valve.

  6. Re-test

Clear the fault codes via the multi-display/FENDIAS and actuate the valve to ensure the main piston travels fully without dropping pressure.
