Fendt A.1.34 – ELECTRICAL VALVES VALVE 3 / VENDI: Spool valve fault on valve 3

Issue description

Main piston travel is too short due to a drop in control pressure below 22 bar. This condition can be triggered if the hydraulic oil temperature is too low. When this fault is logged, the affected valve automatically moves into the neutral position as a safety measure.

Check the cause

  1. Check hydraulic oil temperature to ensure it is up to normal operating temperature (cold oil can cause pressure drops)

  2. Test control pressure at port M5 to verify if it is dropping below the 22 bar threshold

  3. Test the diaphragm accumulator for proper nitrogen pre-charge

  4. Inspect the RV7 end plate shutoff valve for proper operation or blockages

Repair steps

  1. Warm-Up

    Run the tractor to bring the hydraulic fluid up to operating temperature. Clear the code and operate the valve to see if the fault returns. If it does not, the issue was likely low oil temperature.

  2. Pressure Testing

    Locate test port M5 on the hydraulic block. Install a pressure gauge and actuate valve 3 (Y017). If the pressure drops below 22 bar, proceed to component inspection.

  3. Accumulator Inspection

    Locate the diaphragm accumulator on the hydraulic circuit. Test its nitrogen pre-charge. If the accumulator is flat or ruptured, it must be replaced.

  4. RV7 Valve Inspection

    Locate the RV7 end plate shutoff valve, which is situated on the lowest connector plate on the control valve column (accessible by opening the cover panel on the right entrance step on 900 series models). Clean and inspect the valve for debris or sticking.

  5. Spool Valve Replacement

    If the control pressure at M5 is steady, the accumulator is good, and the RV7 valve is functioning, the internal sensor or piston within the Y017 auxiliary control valve (Valve 3 - Red) is likely faulty and the spool valve assembly will need to be replaced.
