Fendt A.1.35 – ECU, enhanced control, electric auxiliary control valves: Spool valve fault, valve 3 — Overvoltage (> 45 volts)
Issue description
The system has detected a voltage spike or short-to-power exceeding 45 volts at the third auxiliary spool valve (Y017). As a safety measure, the valve automatically moves into the neutral position and locks out to prevent undefined or uncontrolled hydraulic functions.

Check the cause
Clear the fault code using the terminal to see if the overvoltage was a momentary spike or a hard, continuous fault
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the Y017 valve (Valve 3, red) for chafing, melted insulation, or pinched wires that could cause a short-to-power from a higher voltage source
Probe the connector at X328 (the connector for Y017) to verify the actual voltage being supplied to the valve
Check the power supply for the CAN bus on circuit board A013, specifically inspecting fuses F040 and F041, which protect the electric auxiliary control valves
Check for internal valve damage (often triggering secondary code A.1.36), which indicates the valve's internal magnet output stage is fried
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the ignition and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system.
Access the Valve Block
Locate the central control block (usually on the underside/rear depending on the model). Identify Valve 3 (Y017), which is typically marked with a red decal or cap.
Repair Wiring (If Applicable)
If a short circuit was found during diagnostics, repair the damaged wiring harness and replace any blown fuses (F040/F041).
Replace the Spool Valve
If the valve's internal sensor/solenoid is damaged: Disconnect the X328 electrical connector. Unbolt the Y017 spool valve from the hydraulic manifold block. Clean the mating surface, ensuring no dirt enters the hydraulic system. Install the new spool valve with new O-rings/seals and torque to OEM specifications.
EOL Programming
A newly installed electronic spool valve must be recognized by the valve bus. You must use the FENDIAS diagnostic software to program/calibrate the auxiliary control valve for 'position 3' in the EOL (End of Line) program.
