Fendt A.1.36 – A002 ECU (Enhanced Control / Variotronic TI): Spool valve fault, valve 3 - Magnet output stage fault within spool valve

The electronic control unit integrated into the spool valve has detected an electrical failure in the output stage that drives the valve's internal pilot solenoid magnet. As a safety measure, the valve automatically moves into the neutral position and remains set there.

   Identify the Correct Valve: Locate valve Y017. Fendt color-codes their auxiliary valves; Y017 is Position 3 and is designated by the Red color marker.

   Wiring & Connector Inspection: Check the wiring harness and the connector (X328) at the Y017 valve for corrosion, pushed pins, or moisture ingress.

   Voltage & CAN Bus Check: Verify that the valve is receiving proper supply voltage and CAN bus communication.

   Mechanical Binding: Ensure the main piston is not jammed due to oil contamination.

   Depressurize the System

   Ensure the tractor is off, the implement is lowered, and hydraulic pressure is fully relieved from the system.

   Disconnect Electronics

   Unplug the X328 electrical connector from the red Y017 auxiliary control valve.

   Component Replacement

   Because the magnet output stage is internal to the valve's electronic actuator head, the electronic head (or the entire valve section) must be replaced. Remove the tie rods/mounting bolts holding the valve stack and carefully extract the Y017 section.

   Reassembly

   Install the new valve section using new O-rings/seals between the slices. Torque the valve block tie rods to OEM specifications.

   Programming / EOL

   The new auxiliary control valve must be programmed for 'Position 3' using the Fendt EOL (End of Line) program via the FENDIAS diagnostic tool. If it is not taught into the CAN bus network, it will not function.

   Testing

   Clear the fault codes, start the tractor, and test the red auxiliary circuit for proper operation.
