Fendt A.1.3A – SPOOL VALVES 1 – 4 / ELECTRICAL VALVES VALVE 3 / VENDI: Spool valve fault, valve 3 — Main piston deflected too far.

The position pickup sensor on the auxiliary control valve has detected that the main piston (spool) has traveled beyond its calibrated or expected physical range. As a safety measure, the system forces the valve to move into the neutral position.

   Check the hydraulic oil for severe contamination or debris, which is the primary cause of a spool valve piston sticking or over-traveling.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector going to the Y017 (red) valve. Check the position pickup sensor for physical damage or wiring faults.

   Connect the Fendt-EST / FENDIAS diagnostic tool to read the live setpoint/actual value display of Valve 3. Attempt to clear the code and recalibrate the spool valves to rule out a software/calibration drift.

   Depressurize the System

   Lower all implements to the ground, turn off the engine, and actuate the hydraulic controls to relieve any residual system pressure.

   Access the Valve Block

   Locate the rear auxiliary control valve block. Identify valve 3 (Y017), which is designated by the red color coding.

   Disconnect Electricals

   Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the Y017 valve actuator/sensor.

   Remove the Valve

   Clean the surrounding area thoroughly to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system. Unbolt the Y017 valve assembly from the main hydraulic block.

   Inspect/Replace

   Inspect the mating surface and the main piston for scoring or debris. Because the internal position sensors and pistons are highly calibrated, a valve that has mechanically failed or "deflected too far" due to internal wear usually requires complete replacement.

   Reinstallation

   Install the new Y017 valve using new O-rings. Torque the mounting bolts to the specifications outlined in the Fendt workshop manual.

   Reassembly & Calibration

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Start the tractor, check for leaks, and use the FENDIAS diagnostic software to perform an End-Of-Line (EOL) programming/calibration for the new spool valve.
