Fendt A.1.3F – A002 - ECU: Y017 - Auxiliary control valve, position 3 (red) / Spool valve fault on valve 3
Issue description
Fault indicates a spool valve fault on valve 3 due to missing or implausible setpoint/configuration messages, a potentiometer or PWM fault, or a Valve CAN BUS error. Consequently, the valve is locked and automatically moves into the neutral position to prevent uncontrolled hydraulic functions.

Check the cause
Check CAN Bus Power Supply: Verify voltage supply for the CAN Bus on printed circuit board A013 by checking fuses F040 and F041.
Inspect Wiring and Connectors: Check the wiring harness and connector X328 (pins 24, 26) at the Y017 valve for corrosion, broken wires, or loose connections.
Test the Signal: Verify the potentiometer and PWM signals at the valve connector to determine if the issue is wiring/ECU related or internal to the valve.
Check for Related Codes: Look for codes like A.1.30 (Valve not registered on CAN bus) or A.1.31 (Electronics in valve faulty) to isolate communication versus hardware failures.
Repair steps
Access the Valve Block
Locate the Y017 valve (Valve 3) on the central control block. On some models (like the Favorit 900), unscrew the right step and pull the right auxiliary tank outwards to access the 1st control valve on the underside of the block.
Resolve Wiring Issues
If diagnostic checks revealed a blown fuse (F040/F041) or a damaged wire at connector X328, repair the wiring harness or replace the fuse, then clear the codes and retest.
Replace the Valve
If the wiring and CAN bus supply are intact but the setpoint/configuration messages remain missing (indicating internal electronic failure), replace the Y017 auxiliary control valve.
EOL Programming
Calibrate and register the new valve to the CAN bus using FENDIAS diagnostic software in the EOL (End of Line) program so the A002 ECU recognizes it as Valve 3.
