Fendt A.1.40 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: Y018 - Auxiliary control valve
Issue description
No signal from the valve to the valve bus available. The valve cannot be recognized by the valve CAN bus, resulting in a complete loss of operation for this specific hydraulic valve (Valve 4, green).

Check the cause
Check the CAN Bus power supply by inspecting fuses F040 and F041 on printed circuit board A013
Inspect connector X329 at the Y018 valve for corrosion, backed-out pins, or moisture
Test the CAN II bus lines for continuity and resistance between the A002 ECU (pins 4 and 5) and the Y018 valve connector, looking for open circuits or shorts
Verify the valve is receiving proper operating supply voltage (must be between 8 and 18 volts)
Repair steps
Turn off the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure.
Locate the Y018 auxiliary control valve on the hydraulic control block.
It is designated as "Position 4" and is associated with the green color code.
Disconnect connector X329 from the valve.
Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and verify the wiring integrity back to the A002 ECU.
Check fuses F040 and F041 on the A013 circuit board.
Replace if necessary.
Determine if the communication failure is internal to the Y018 valve's integrated electronics.
This is the case if the wiring, fuses, and power supply are all confirmed to be in good working order.
Remove the faulty Y018 auxiliary control valve from the hydraulic block and install the replacement valve.
Program the new auxiliary control valve using the FENDIAS diagnostic software (EOL program).
You must assign the new valve to "Position 4 (green)" so the A002 ECU can recognize it on the valve bus.
Parts you might need
(1)Electric Auxiliary Control Valve / Spool Valve (Position 4 / Green)
Exact Fendt part numbers vary based on chassis number. Manufactured by Bosch Rexroth or Danfoss. Requires EOL programming post-installation.
