Fendt A.1.41 – ECU (Enhanced Control): Spool valve fault, valve 4 - EEPROM inconsistent

The internal memory (EEPROM) on the valve's integrated circuit board has failed or become corrupted, meaning the valve's electronic controller is faulty. As a safety measure, the valve automatically moves into the neutral position and locks, and valve actuation is no longer possible.

   Check Power Supply: Verify the voltage at the valve connector (Connector X329 for Valve 4) to ensure it is between 8 and 18 Volts.

   Check CAN Bus Communication: Ensure the CAN bus wiring to the valve block is intact, as the valve must be registered on the CAN bus to actuate.

   Check Hydraulic Temperature: Ensure the hydraulic oil is up to operating temperature, as cold oil can trigger secondary spool valve faults.

   Access the Valve Block

   Depending on the tractor model, the central control block is located either on top of the rear axle housing (requiring removal of the driver seat and floor panel) or on the underside of the central control block (accessed by unscrewing the right step and pulling the right auxiliary tank outwards).

   Disconnect Electronics

   Locate Valve 4 (Y018). Disconnect the electrical connector (designated as X329).

   Remove the Valve

   Relieve hydraulic pressure. Unbolt the faulty Bosch SB 23 LS-EHS auxiliary control valve slice from the hydraulic distributor stack.

   Install the New Valve

   Bolt the replacement valve into position 4 and reconnect the X329 wiring harness.

   EOL Programming

   The new valve will not work out of the box. It must be registered on the CAN bus and programmed for its specific position (Position 4 / Green) using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool via the tractor's EOL (End of Line) program.
