Fendt A.1.48 – Electrical Valves (E-box) / VENDI: Spool valve fault, valve 4

The main piston of auxiliary control valve 4 cannot return to its neutral (center) position due to oil contamination. The system flags this as a DANGER! condition because the valve remaining set can cause undefined and uncontrolled hydraulic functions.

   Test the manual actuation of the valve actuator to ensure it has no play and the slider can move into the middle (neutral) position by itself

   Check the hydraulic fluid for debris, metal shavings, or degraded oil indicating contamination

   Inspect the hydraulic oil filters to see if they have been bypassed or are heavily soiled

   Isolate the Valve

   Locate auxiliary control valve 4 (Y018), which is typically designated by the color Green on the rear linkage/valve block.

   Mechanical Cleaning/Clearing

   Attempt to manually free the stuck main piston. If debris is lodged in the spool, the valve block may need to be carefully disassembled and cleaned.

   Hydraulic System Flush

   Drain the hydraulic fluid. Because the root cause is oil contamination, simply replacing the valve without addressing the oil will lead to repeat failures.

   Filter Replacement

   Replace the main hydraulic filters (e.g., Fendt Super Hyd or Extra Hyd 68).

   Valve Replacement

   If the main piston is scored or permanently seized and cannot return to neutral under its own spring tension, the Y018 spool valve must be replaced.

   Calibration

   After replacing the valve, an EOL (End of Line) reprogramming/calibration may be necessary to assign the new valve to position 4.
