Fendt A.1.4F – A002 ECU (Enhanced control / E-box): Y018 - Spool valve fault, valve 4 — Setpoint message is missing or not plausible.

The tractor's control system is not receiving a valid command (setpoint) or configuration message for the 4th auxiliary hydraulic spool valve. As a safety consequence, the affected valve automatically moves into the neutral position and locks, preventing operation.

   Check the Terminal Display: Look at the setpoint / actual value display for Spool Valves 1–4 on the tractor's monitor to see if the command from the joystick or crossgate lever is registering.

   Inspect CAN Bus Power Supply: Check the power supply for the CAN bus located in circuit board A013. Specifically, inspect fuses F040 and F041 to ensure they are not blown.

   Wiring and Signal Flow: Check the CAN bus wiring for continuity and shorts, specifically focusing on A002 CAN II pins 4 and 5.

   Check the Input Controls: Test the crossgate lever and joystick for a potentiometer or PWM signal fault, as a failing physical control can cause the missing setpoint message.

   Verify EOL Programming: Ensure that the auxiliary control valve is correctly registered and programmed for position 4 in the End-of-Line (EOL) programming.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and ensure the hydraulic system is depressurized before inspecting electrical connections.

   Fuse Replacement

   If fuses F040 or F041 on circuit board A013 are blown, replace them. If they blow again immediately, trace the CAN bus wiring harness for a short to ground.

   Harness Inspection

   Disconnect and inspect the wiring harness connectors at the Y018 valve (Valve 4) and the A002 ECU. Clean any corrosion and repair any damaged wires, paying special attention to CAN II pins 4 and 5.

   Component Replacement

   If the wiring is intact and the joystick/crossgate lever is outputting the correct PWM/potentiometer signals, the internal electronics of the Y018 spool valve have likely failed. Replace the Y018 valve.

   Reprogramming

   If a new valve is installed, or if the configuration was lost, connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool and perform EOL (End-of-Line) reprogramming to register the new valve on the bus.

   Clear and Test

   Clear the A.1.4F fault code from the A002 ECU memory and operate the 4th spool valve to confirm the repair.
