A.1.55

Fendt A.1.55 – A057 - ECU, steering controller (Auto-Guide): EEPROM description fault

Issue description

An error writing to the EEPROM memory has occurred, indicating the module's internal memory has experienced a read/write failure or data corruption when attempting to save operational parameters.

Applies to these machines

  • 411 Vario COM III
  • 412 Vario COM III
  • 413 Vario COM III
  • 414 Vario COM III
  • 415 Vario COM III
  • 712 Vario COM III
  • 714 Vario COM III
  • 716 Vario COM III
  • 718 Vario COM III
  • 818 Vario COM III
  • 820 Vario COM III
  • FENDT 300 Vario (COM III)
  • FENDT 400 Vario (COM III)
  • FENDT 700 Vario (COM III)
  • FENDT 800 Vario (COM III)
  • FENDT 900 Vario (COM III)

Check the cause

  1. Attempt an EOL (End of Line) programming procedure on the steering controller to determine if the memory corruption is a temporary software glitch or a permanent hardware failure

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic tool

Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to the tractor.

  2. Perform EOL programming

Attempt to perform EOL (End of Line) programming on the A057 Auto-Guide steering controller.

  3. Verify programming

Check if the EEPROM accepts the new programming and clears the fault code.

  4. Replace ECU if necessary

If the EOL programming fails or the code immediately returns, the EEPROM chip inside the controller has physically failed. You must replace the A057 ECU assembly.

  5. Install and calibrate new ECU

Install the new A057 ECU and perform a fresh EOL programming and steering calibration to marry the new module to the tractor.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Fendt Auto-Guide Steering Controller ECU (A057)

When ordering, the replacement ECU must be matched to the specific Vario series (300/400/700/800/900) and will require dealer-level EOL programming upon installation.
