Fendt A.1.5F – A057 - ECU, steering controller (Auto-Guide): Internal fault
Issue description
Critical module error where the controller's internal memory or processing has failed, often related to EEPROM data corruption or hardware failure.

Check the cause
Check for related voltage fault code A.1.5E, which indicates the supply voltage to the A057 ECU has dropped below 10.1 VDC and can cause internal module faults.
Check for related EEPROM fault codes A.1.55 (EEPROM description fault), A.1.56 (EEPROM reading fault), or A.1.57 (Invalid EEPROM data).
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the A057 ECU (referencing circuit diagram sheet 39) to ensure the module is receiving stable power and ground.
Repair steps
EOL Programming
Perform EOL (End of Line) programming by connecting the tractor to the FENDIAS diagnostic software and reflashing/reprogramming the A057 steering controller to restore its operating parameters.
Module Replacement
If the EOL programming fails, cannot be completed, or does not remedy the fault (indicating a hard physical failure of the internal memory/processor), replace the A057 ECU box.
Recalibration
If the module is successfully reprogrammed or replaced, restart the Auto-Guide steering valve calibration process.
Parts you might need
(1)A057 ECU, steering controller (Auto-Guide)
Exact part number varies by chassis serial number. When ordering, you must provide the exact tractor chassis number to match the specific Auto-Guide TopDock and steering valve block (Y087) configuration. Rebuild services are also available.
