Fendt A.1.61 – 0000 - Overall system/tractor: Fault only possible in calibration mode
Issue description
During the steering calibration process, the system commands the steering valve to open 100%, but the value of the steering angle sensor does not change. The system flags this as either a mechanical fault with the steering angle sensor or a complete lack of hydraulic oil in the steering valve.

Check the cause
Verify that the tractor has adequate hydraulic oil and that fluid is successfully reaching the steering valve block (Y087).
Inspect the steering angle sensor's mechanical linkage (such as the universal joint on the axle) to ensure it hasn't snapped, disconnected, or seized.
Check the wiring harness connecting the steering angle sensor to the steering control module for breaks or corrosion.
Ensure the steering valve itself is not mechanically stuck or suffering from a blocked hydraulic line, which would prevent the wheels from turning even when commanded 100% open.
Repair steps
Resolve Hydraulic Supply
If the steering valve lacks oil, trace the hydraulic lines to the steering valve block (Y087) to clear blockages or repair leaks. Bleed the steering hydraulic circuit if air has been introduced.
Replace the Steering Angle Sensor
If hydraulic pressure is confirmed but the sensor linkage is broken or the sensor has failed internally, remove the faulty steering angle sensor from the axle bridge.
Install New Sensor
Mount the replacement steering angle sensor, ensuring the mechanical universal joint is properly seated and secured to the axle.
Recalibrate
Once the mechanical or hydraulic issue is resolved, you must re-enter calibration mode. Initiate the steering calibration procedure (often requiring the tractor to be at a standstill) and follow the on-screen prompts to turn the steering wheel as directed until the system successfully registers the angle changes.
