Check the cause

  1. Visually and electrically inspect the wiring harness leading to the position sensor on the Y087 steering valve block for chafed wires, broken connections, or pinched harnesses.

  2. Disconnect and inspect the electrical connectors at the steering valve and the A057 Steering Controller for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture ingress.

  3. Test the position sensor on the steering valve for proper resistance/continuity to verify if the internal sensor has failed.

Repair steps

  1. Repair Wiring

If a break or short circuit is found in the harness during the diagnostic phase, repair the wiring or replace the affected harness section. Clear the codes and test the system.

  2. Replace Steering Head

If the wiring and connectors are intact and the fault is isolated to the sensor itself, check the steering valve, or replace the steering head.

  3. System Calibration

If the steering valve or steering head is replaced, recalibrate the Auto-Guide system (enter calibration code '2403' in the terminal to initiate the procedure).
