A.1.A1

Fendt A.1.A1 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control (E-box / Comfort ECU): A002 - ECU, enhanced control: EEPROM fault while loading

Issue description

EEPROM fault while loading. The control unit's internal memory (EEPROM) encountered an error while trying to load saved configuration data or set values. Set values for enhanced controls cannot be read, resulting in the loss of enhanced features when operating the spool valves, and the valves may move to a neutral position and lock.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the voltage supply to the CAN-Bus on the A013 fuse board, specifically checking fuses F040 and F041 for power interruptions.

  2. Inspect the wiring harnesses and multi-pin connectors going to the A002 E-box for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.

  3. Attempt to read the error out with SERDIA/FENDIAS diagnostic software to determine if the data record is corrupted or if the hardware has failed.

Repair steps

  1. End-of-Line (EOL) Reprogramming

Connect the tractor to the FENDIAS or Serdia diagnostic tool. Attempt an EOL reprogramming to load a new data record into the A002 ECU. If the EEPROM accepts the flash and the fault clears, no hardware replacement is necessary.

  2. ECU Removal

If reprogramming fails, the EEPROM is physically damaged and the E-box must be removed. Disconnect the tractor's battery (negative terminal first). Access the E-box (typically located in the right-hand side console/panel). Carefully release the locking mechanisms on the multi-pin plug contacts and disconnect the wiring harnesses. Unbolt the A002 ECU from its mounting bracket.

  3. Repair or Replace

Send the E-box to a specialized agricultural electronics repair facility (such as Ilgenfritz Mechatronics), or install a new/remanufactured AGCO Reman unit.

  4. Reinstallation & Calibration

Install the repaired/new E-box, reconnect the battery, and use the FENDIAS tool to perform EOL programming to match the ECU to the tractor's specific valve configuration.
