Fendt A.1.B1 – Driving switch, CAN bus (A034) or MFA (Multifunction Armrest) control module (A100): Crossgate lever — X-axis signal fault

The control unit is detecting an incorrect, missing, or out-of-range signal from the X-axis potentiometer/sensor of the crossgate lever (joystick). As a direct consequence of this fault, the spool valves cannot be operated.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the crossgate lever (A034/A003) and the control module for any line discontinuities, corrosion, or short circuits.

   Verify if the lever has lost its calibration (Calibration code '1001').

   Ensure the physical joystick is not jammed or engaged when the ignition is switched on.

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery before beginning electrical work.

   Remove the multifunction armrest/console covers to access the crossgate lever (joystick) assembly.

   Disconnect the wiring harness from the crossgate lever and test the X-axis pins with a multimeter to verify if the internal potentiometer/sensor has failed.

   This is the most common cause if the external wiring is intact.

   If the lever's internal electronics are defective, remove the defective crossgate lever from the armrest.

   Install a new or remanufactured crossgate lever assembly and reconnect the wiring harness.

   Reassemble the armrest console.

   Turn on the tractor and perform End-of-Line (EOL) programming or run the calibration procedure (Calibration code '1001').

   This ensures the ECU recognizes the new lever's center and extreme positions.

   Test the spool valves to ensure full functionality has been restored.
